The world’s largest marketplace for derivatives, CME Group, is partnering with the popular trading app, Robinhood, to bring futures products to the Robinhood app. With this exciting new feature, Robinhood users can now trade futures on popular assets such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000, and Dow Jones Industrial Average. Besides currencies, they can trade futures on cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether, or commodities like gold, silver, copper, crude oil and natural gas.
This is a huge deal to close the gap and enable retail futures trading for everyday people. Futures trading has traditionally been something that only experienced traders did before this move, but now it’s available to everyone on Robinhood. According to Julie Winkler, Chief Commercial Officer at CME Group, many self-directed investors are actively looking for new ways to invest and futures trading is a good option. This increases our reach and, ultimately, helps people learn more and get the tools they need to be successful.
The new mobile trading platform on Robinhood is one of the cool features. What we have here is a tool that enables you to trade fast and simply regardless of your experience as a trader. Robinhood’s new trading platform that lets users quickly trade with just a tap of the finger and at one of the lowest fees in the industry is good news for everyone, shared JB Mackenzie, VP and GM of Futures and International at Robinhood.
In addition to the basics, both CME Group and Robinhood also offer educational resources for new and seasoned traders. Other options include CME Group’s free online courses, webinars, and tutorials and Robinhood Learn and YouTube videos that help explain how futures fundamentals work and how to trade them.
But these new tools and resources now allow anyone interested in futures trading to get started more easily and with greater confidence.
